How long do radishes last?
Radishes keep 10 to 14 days in the fridge from the day you buy them, best with the leaves removed. The USDA doesn't recommend freezing them.
| Food | Fridge | Freezer |
|---|---|---|
| Radishes | 10–14 daysfrom purchase | Not recommended |
Fridge at 4 °C (40 °F) or colder, freezer at −18 °C (0 °F). Freezer times are for best quality: food kept frozen stays safe, but slowly loses taste and texture. These times are USDA guidance, not a guarantee. When in doubt, throw it out.
How to tell if radishes have gone bad
- Soft, spongy or wrinkled radishes.
- Slimy skin, mold or dark spots.
- A sour or rotten smell. Slightly limp radishes can be revived in ice water.
How to store radishes
- Cut off the leaves as soon as you get home: they make the roots go soft faster.
- Keep the radishes in a sealed container lined with a damp paper towel, or in a jar of water, in the fridge.
- Use the leaves within a day or two, in soup or pesto.
Can you freeze radishes?
The USDA doesn't recommend it: they turn soft and watery. If you have too many, roast, pickle or cook them instead.
